Wilco

So I saw Wilco at The Pageant here on Sunday night. This show sold out in a few hours. I will never understand why they don't play more than one night in St. Louis, because St. Louis loves them some Wilco. It was a great set, and they played some older songs - "Monday", "Passenger Side", "Casino Queen", and Uncle Tupelo's "New Madrid"... Tweedy was more manic than depressive this show, which is nice as a fan. It was a way more upbeat song than the show they did at the Fox Theater in 2004. Tweedy's parents were in attendence and, as he usually does when his dad is there, he played a song for his dad. At the Fox show, it was "Casino Queen". At this show it was "Walken", a new song that they recently wrote and I saw them play in Austin last September at Stubb's and the Austin City Limits Music Festival, and is now apparently his dad's favorite song.
